No. The Ragdoll Cart is one way to book Mexican Ragdoll. Private parties, workplace catering and drop-off orders all work without it — the cart is there when you want a showpiece.
Send an inquiry (or configure a package) with your date, city and guest count. Monica follows up personally. Your date is confirmed only when Monica confirms it with you — an inquiry, or even a payment, never auto-confirms a date.
As early as you can, especially for weekends and holiday season. There is no published cut-off — send the date and Monica will tell you honestly whether it works.
Mexican Ragdoll focuses on small and mid-size gatherings, commonly 15–60 guests. Smaller and larger events are welcome by custom quote — tell us your headcount and we will tell you what fits.
Yes, by custom quote. Larger events may need additional staffing, and we will say so plainly in your quote rather than overpromise.
A small, boat-shaped wooden cart with dark planks and ivory pinstripes, hand-lettered “Mexican Ragdoll”, real starfish and seashells along the hull, a red, white and green rail, painted calavera figures and a thatched palapa-style umbrella. Every photo of the cart on this site is real.
Plan a level, accessible spot with room for guests to gather in front of it. Share your venue details — doorways, gates, slopes, elevators, how close a vehicle can unload — and we will confirm the fit for your space.
It has been set up indoors before. Tell us about your venue so we can confirm access and placement.
Monica’s known specialties are ceviche and Mexican cornbread, including a jalapeño-honey version. Beyond those, menus are built around your event during the quote — we do not publish dishes we have not confirmed with you.
Ask about it. Ceviche is offered only where it can be kept properly cold from preparation to serving; the cart itself has no refrigeration, so we plan cold holding separately and will tell you what works for your venue.
Tell us every allergy and preference when you inquire. We label clearly and plan around your guests, but we never promise an allergen-free kitchen or environment.
Payments run through secure Stripe Checkout — we never see or store your card number. Depending on your quote or package you may pay a deposit, the remaining balance, or the full amount, and Stripe emails you a receipt.
Payment secures your place in Monica’s review. She confirms the date, details and menu with you personally. If she cannot take the date, you will hear from her directly.
Package prices are set by Monica and appear when a package is open for online booking. Until then, configure the package and send it as a quote request — you will get a real, itemized quote rather than a guess.
Home base is San Clemente, with a focus on Dana Point, San Juan Capistrano, Laguna Niguel, Mission Viejo, Laguna Beach and nearby South Orange County. Ask about other locations — travel is confirmed in your quote.
Many beaches and parks have their own rules for vendors, catering and group events, and some do not allow outside caterers at all. Check with the city or park first; we are happy to help you plan the food around a nearby home or venue instead.
Organizers are welcome to invite us. Public events have their own permit and organizer requirements, which we work through with you before anything is confirmed.
Call, text or send an inquiry — Monica would love to hear about your event.
